Registration & badges
Registration was conducted online through the IUCEA registration portal at https://iucea.online. (Closed for in-person attendance)
Conference name badges will be issued at the registration desk on 28 July 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and on the morning of 29 July 2026 prior to the commencement of the Conference. Participants are required to sign attendance each day throughout the Conference and Annual Meeting.
Travel arrangements
Participants whose travel cost is sponsored by IUCEA will be provided with a return economy-class air ticket to Nairobi. The IUCEA ticket team will share flight itineraries for your review, selection and confirmation.
Once an air ticket has been issued, individual itinerary changes are strongly discouraged. Any costs arising from such changes shall be borne by the participant. Boarding passes must be submitted to the IUCEA Secretariat for accountability.

From JKIA to your hotel
IUCEA has arranged airport transfers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the designated hotel for facilitated participants. On arrival and exit at the airport, look out for representatives holding placards labelled “IUCEA”.

Argyle Grand Hotel, Mombasa Road
The 17th Annual Meeting and Conference will be held at the Argyle Grand Hotel, Mombasa Road, Nairobi. IUCEA has fully covered accommodation for facilitated participants at the conference venue on a half-board basis (bed, breakfast and dinner). Lunch and refreshments are part of the Conference package. A Gala Dinner for all participants will be held on 29 July 2026 at 6:30 pm at the hotel.

Visa, Yellow Fever & Ebola advisory
Kenya is visa-free for all African nationals; carry a copy of your invitation letter for immigration officials if requested. Holders of Somali passports and other foreign nationals must obtain a Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) at etakenya.go.ke.
A valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required for travellers arriving from or transiting through risk countries. Please verify the validity of your certificate before travel.
In line with the WHO PHEIC declaration on the DRC Ebola outbreak (May 2026), all travellers must complete the mandatory International Travellers Health Surveillance Form and present the resulting QR code at Port Health on arrival. Undertake a personal health self-assessment before departure and do not travel if you exhibit symptoms; notify the IUCEA Secretariat immediately.
Weather
Nairobi is cool and dry in July: daytime 11–24 °C, night 11–13 °C. Carry warm clothing for early mornings and evenings.
Currency & Banking
The Kenyan Shilling (KES) is official. M-Pesa is the most widely used payment method. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at hotels, malls and supermarkets.
Electricity
220 V, 50 Hz, Type G plugs & sockets. Bring an appropriate adapter.

As in any city, please remain vigilant while exploring Nairobi. Contact your hotel reception for emergencies and alert the IUCEA Secretariat for any assistance required.
